11:15 a.m. A Toast to Seattle Milk Fund

12 noon Lunch & Program & Keynote

1 p.m.

  • Book signing with Stephanie Land (bring your copy to be signed or books will be available for purchase)

There’s no cost to attend. All gifts are meaningful and bring us closer to helping even more families break the cycle of poverty through educational opportunities. We are amazed by the generosity of last year’s luncheon donors, who averaged $207 per gift.

We are pleased to announce that Stephanie Land will be our keynote speaker and Angela Poe Russell will be our host.

Stephanie Land, New York Times Bestselling Author of MAID: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive

Stephanie Land’s work has been featured in the New York Times, the New York Review of Books, the Washington Post, the Guardian, Vox, Salon, and many other outlets. She focuses on social and economic justice as a writing fellow through both the Center for Community Change and the Economic Hardship Reporting Project.

MAID is her first book, a memoir about love, hard work, and never giving up hope for a better life.

MAID is Stephanie’s story, but it’s not her’s alone. It is an inspiring testament to the strength, determination, and ultimate triumph of the human spirit. Stephanie is a bright, important new voice in nonfiction literature, illuminating underserved populations of domestic and service workers who fight daily to improve their own lives and the lives of their children.

Angela Poe Russell, KING 5

Angela Poe Russell’s new show, Take 5, airs at 4 p.m. on weekdays on KING 5. As a journalist, Angela aims to inspire with uplifting and meaningful stories. We are grateful to her for supporting Seattle Milk Fund families for the last several years as host of our luncheon. Thank you, Angela!

Thank you to Spilt Milk Nannies for providing complimentary childcare for our guests again this year. Childcare is available from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. during the luncheon. Sign up through this link.

Table Hosts

Join our team of table hosts! Table hosts can fill a table of 10 or fill half a table of 5. Gathering your friends, colleagues, and family together to support a cause that is near and dear to your heart creates a positive ripple effect for our families and makes our fundraising goals attainable. Consider bringing a guest who you wish could have attended last year’s event or a coworker who might be interested in hearing from this year’s keynote speaker. In addition, if you are interested in hosting a student parent at your table, please let us know.

This year, we will provide every table host with tools and tips to make hosting a table fun and easy!

If you are interested in becoming a host, contact Maggie Skinner or Meg Alley at 206-526-7944 or maggies@goodwinconnections.org | meg@goodwinconnections.org for additional information.
