UPDATE:

As you may be aware childcare tuition support is growing and local and state government subsidies are more readily accessible. Over 70% of our student parents now qualify for other larger childcare support programs, most notably King County’s Best Starts for Kids Child Care Subsidy. For this reason, we are closing the Goodwin Connections’ Family Connections Program and will no longer provide direct funding to student parents as of June 2023. We will provide additional updates here as our board makes decisions about the organization.

About Our Programs

Goodwin Connections is proud to serve parents who are determined to build a future for their families with the help of a certificate or college degree. We offer two comprehensive programs that are centered around the needs of parents as they work toward their college degrees.

Family Connections Program

Our Family Connections Program supports the entire family. This program is designed to meet the needs of student parents who don’t meet the requirements for government-funded childcare assistance programs or are unable to afford what’s left of childcare expenses after government funding has been applied.

Student Parent Success Program

Our Student Parent Success program is a support system for student parents who don’t need financial assistance with childcare but face challenges in other areas. The cornerstone of this program is financial assistance with family essentials, including diapers, food, clothing, transportation costs, and unexpected utility bills.

The goals of the Family Connections and Student Parent Success Programs are:

• For parents to graduate from college or earn their certificate on a timeline that supports long-term success.
• For parents to build a brighter financial future for their family through a sustainable career after graduation.
• For their children to have a quality, early-learning experience.
